Softball Saskatchewan Announces New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Softball Saskatchewan is extremely pleased to announce that Jacqueline Eiwanger has been appointed as the organization’s new Executive Director, following an extensive search and interview process. The process concluded after in-person interviews held last weekend, resulting in Jacqueline’s selection and formal approval by the Board of Directors.

“On behalf of Softball Saskatchewan’s Board of Directors, we are thrilled to announce the selection of Jacqueline Eiwanger as our next Executive Director,” stated Softball Saskatchewan President Gary MacDonald. “While Guy Jacobson’s pending retirement leaves very big shoes to fill, we are confident that Jac’s vast experience—as a player, coach, and as our long-standing Program Coordinator over the past 27 years—will enable her to successfully lead our organization into the future.”

Jacqueline joined Softball Saskatchewan in 1998 as Technical Director, a role which later evolved into Program Coordinator. Over the years, she has played an instrumental role in Softball Saskatchewan’s coaching programs, athlete development initiatives, and Canada Games teams. She has supported local associations by organizing coaching and skills clinics, and by assisting coaches through the certification process required to participate in provincial championships.

Jac’s passion for the Learn to Play Program and her leadership in developing and implementing Softball Saskatchewan’s Softball Mobile App have made a lasting impact on grassroots softball. Her strong relationships with members across the province will undoubtedly support a smooth transition into her new leadership role.

“I am extremely honoured and excited to be moving into the role of Executive Director for Softball Saskatchewan,” said Jacqueline Eiwanger. “We have an experienced Board of Directors, and with some exciting staff changes ahead, I look forward to building on the great work that has been done. I want to sincerely thank the selection committee for their confidence in me and wish Guy Jacobson all the best in his upcoming retirement. His mentorship and support over the past 27 years have been invaluable—I would not be where I am today without his guidance.”

Current Executive Director Guy Jacobson, who announced his upcoming retirement last November, will remain actively involved until the new year to ensure a smooth transition of his duties to Jacqueline. She will assume full Executive Director responsibilities in early December.

“I look forward to working with Jac over the next couple of months as she transitions into the Executive Director position,” said Guy Jacobson. “She has the experience, leadership, and passion to guide Softball Saskatchewan forward for many years to come.”
