Pitching Instructor - Beginner Clinic

Softball Saskatchewan will be offering a Pitching Instructor - Beginner clinic on January 18th & 19th. This clinic is for coaches who want more knowledge about pitching and for those who are interested in becoming a Regional Pitching Instructor for Softball Saskatchewan.

Softball Saskatchewan Seeks Applicants for Regional Pitching Instructors!

Softball Saskatchewan has a great opportunity for those of you with a passion for pitching and the desire to help young pitchers develop their skills.  Softball Saskatchewan is currently recruiting Regional Pitching Instructors.

The primary role of the Regional Pitching Instructor is to be the pitching expert in their region in Saskatchewan and to be responsible for the delivery of the five-week training session for both players and coaches. The Regional Pitching Instructor will also support and mentor pitching coaches within their region in Saskatchewan. They shall play a key role in assisting Softball Saskatchewan with the delivery and implementation of our National Program - Canpitch.  Softball Saskatchewan is looking to expand our reach even further and ensure that Canpitch Clinics will be available in all regions of Saskatchewan.

REGIONAL PITCHING INSTRUCTOR

The primary role of Softball Saskatchewan’s Regional Pitching Instructor (RPI) is to be the pitching expert in their host location within Saskatchewan. Regional Pitching Instructors will receive instruction and support from Softball Saskatchewan’s Master Pitching Instructor (MPI) through mentoring and professional development opportunities. Regional Pitching Instructors will deliver the Canpitch Program throughout Saskatchewan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must sign a Confidential Agreement
  • Must have a Criminal Records Check & Vulnerable Sector Screening complete
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Commit to a minimum of two (2) years to the program
  • Deliver at least one 5-week training session to participants at the grassroots level (ages 6-12)
  • Attend all training sessions hosted by Softball Saskatchewan
  • Communicate regularly with MPI and Softball Saskatchewan about Canpitch
  • Provide feedback about the Program regarding format, content, and delivery
  • Provide recommendations for revisions to Softball Canada through Softball Saskatchewan and the MPI
  • Assist Softball Saskatchewan in providing data about the program and summarizing the feedback from players, parents, and coaches regarding Canpitch
  • Promote Canpitch to local softball associations in their area

Experience in pitching is a requirement; coaching experience is an asset.

Each Regional Pitching Instructor will be compensated for their time at a reasonable hourly rate. Expenses such as mileage, meals, and accommodations, if necessary, will also be covered at both the Regional Pitching Instructor training sessions and the regular 5-week training session that they will be delivering.
