We’re one month away from Blue Convention in Winnipeg, and whether you’ve registered already or it’s still on your to-do list, here are a few reminders and deadlines coming up in March:
Hotel- Our block of rooms at the Delta Hotel is now SOLD OUT. The rate is still available until March 11 so please check with the hotel if there is cancellations. There are some great options close by in downtown Winnipeg though- try the Alt Hotel (7 minute walk, mainly indoors via skywalk system), the Radisson (7 minute walk, mainly indoors via skywalk system) or the Fort Garry Hotel (10 minute walk). Registration & Indicator Club Banquet- find information on all of our Blue Convention offerings and register on the Softball Canada website.
Transportation- don’t forget to fill out your transportation request form by Friday March 24 if you need a pick up or drop off between the Richardson International Airport in Winnipeg and the Delta Hotel.
Companion Program- bringing a friend to Blue Convention? Make sure they have fun while you’re listening to our great speakers and meeting up with friends! Join our companion program by Friday March 24, all of the info on stops and cost is outlined on the registration form.
Souvenir Clothing- order a hoodie or shirt to remind you of the fun times you had in Winnipeg in 2023! Our online store is open until March 19, 2023 and items can be picked up at Blue Convention or mailed to your home.

Each Provincial/Territorial (P/T) Association is eligible to nominate and send one umpire per Canadian Championship event.
NOTE: Each P/T Association is responsible for the travel expenses of the umpires they send to Canadian Championships. A daily meal allowance will be provided by Softball Canada and lodging during the Championship by the Host Committee.

**NOTE umpires at the U19 AND ABOVE AGE CATEGORIES - fitness testing measurements are required.
Once umpires have been confirmed for the 2023 Canadian Championships, they will individually receive additional information and instruction regarding their tournament directly from Softball Canada.

In an effort to reduce costs associated with Canadian Championships, the requirements for travel arrival and housing at Canadian Championships follows. The following information is important for your travelling umpires and booking requirements.
Umpire Arrivals
ALL working umpires are required to arrive ON SITE by noon on the day of the umpire meeting (one day before the start of competition). All umpire meetings will be held in the afternoon /early evening one day before the championship starts. Attached is a Canadian Championship arrival time which indicates the latest scheduled flight umpires should plan to arrive on, taking into account travel times from the designated airport.
Exceptions: Umpires travelling from BC, AB and SK (Western Region) to Atlantic Canada (NB, NS, PE, NL) or vice versa may travel and arrive two days before the start of the event if they cannot arrive by noon on the day of the umpire meeting.
